The New zealand scaup, the forgotten one. This bird was not in the first well sold waterfowl book, so none of the collectors went for this. At a dealer near Gent, they were left unsold, no one had ever heard of them. I bought a cheap couple from them, at least this would put some volume in my collection of waterfowl. After all the time we still have them, and still breed with them.

Unfortunately, they will never be popular, even today some visitors ask what that strange duck is, and wether or not it is a mutation.
