The Argentine ruddy duck is only imported once, so most of the birds still here are related. It proves that starting with good parents, the story of recessive traits through inbreeding is not true. But it remains an easy excuse if one does not arrive well.

Biggest chalange in these is to keep them pure, to select well amongst offspring. I've seen a lot on auctions being sold as argentine, just because the males had black heads. Whoehaaaaa!!!
